Our Book
A Home to the World: The United Nations and New York City, is a book which celebrates the 75th anniversary of the United Nations and the 50th anniversary of the UNDC. Looking back, New York seems like a natural home for the United Nations — a place where all are welcome, with forward-thinking leaders and residents who reflect and embrace the UN’s mission and goals. It has been a fruitful relationship for both, aiding the UN in achieving its important mission, helping establish New York as the capital of the world, providing the UN community a home for approximately 16,000 employees, and generating nearly $4 billion to the New York economy each year.
This book was made possible through the sponsorship and support of UNDC, along with generous financial assistance from David and Susan Rockefeller, the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, and a number of UNDC Board members.
